A remote sensing and modeling integrated approach for constructing continuous time series of daily actual evapotranspiration

چکیده
Satellite remote sensing-based surface energy balance (SEB) techniques have emerged as useful tools for quantifying spatialized actual evapotranspiration at various temporal and spatial scales. However, discontinuous data acquisitions and/or gaps in image acquisition due to cloud cover can limit the applicability of satellite sensing (RS) agriculture water management where continuous time series daily crop (ETc act) are more valued. The aim research is construct ETc act starting from estimates obtained by SEB modelling (ETa eb) on Landsat-TM images. SEBAL model was integrated with FAO 56 evaporation model, RS-retrieved vegetative biomass dynamics (by NDVI) on-field measurements soil moisture potential evapotranspiration. procedure validated an eddy covariance tower a vineyard partial coverage south Sardinia Island, Italy. modeling approach showed good reproduction observed (R2 =0.71, MAE=0.54 mm d-1, RMSE=0.73 d-1). A cumulative monthly analysis importance integrating parameters that capture changes soil-plant-atmosphere (SPA) continuum between Landsat acquisitions. comparison referenced ET fraction (ETrF) method considers only weather variability ETo) confirmed lead proposed spring/early summer periods when vegetation significant weight process. applied also robust constructing missing under scenarios limited cloud-free presented has great near real monitoring scheduling irrigation practices. Further testing this diverse dataset integration be analyzed future work.

Estimation of Actual Evapotranspiration using Remote Sensing data
Estimation of actual evapotranspiration (AET) and its spatial distribution are important to understanding of catchment hydrology. The AET is driven by net energy available to evaporate water from soil and vegetation surfaces, and to transpirate water from vegetation. However, estimating AET is difficult as the evapotranspiration process involves complex physical and biological processes. It is ...

Satellite based earth observation (EO) platforms have proved capability to spatio-temporally monitor changes on the earth's surface. Long term satellite missions have provided huge repository of optical remote sensing datasets, and United States Geological Survey (USGS) Landsat program is one of the oldest sources of optical EO datasets. This historical and near real time EO archive is a rich s...

Upscaling instantaneous to daily evapotranspiration using modelled daily shortwave radiation for remote sensing applications: an artificial neural network approach
Upscaling instantaneous evapotranspiration retrieved at any specific time-of-day (ETi) to daily evapotranspiration (ETd) is a key challenge in mapping regional ET using polar orbiting sensors. Various studies have unanimously cited the shortwave incoming radiation (RS) to be the most robust reference variable explaining the ratio between ETd and ETi . This study aims to contribute in ETi upscal...
